I create my work to reflect my personal experiences and interests in both functional and decorative items with a touch of whimsy and sarcasm. Using observations on how nature, our surroundings, and human understandings transform our lives and challenge our perceptions, my goal is to evoke in those who see my work an experience or memory. I enjoy making items that are unique and thoughtful, something that can spark a conversation or an imagination. I am interested in engaging the viewer using creative inquiry to articulate personal history experiences. Even though I use a variety of materials and processes in each project, I strive to keep my methodology consistent. There may not be material similarities between the different projects, they are linked by my desires. My work is constantly evolving as I strive to learn new techniques and incorporate them into my art. I believe that you shouldn’t take yourself or life too seriously. I love to laugh and have fun, I believe creating art helps us to nurture our child within and we should never forget that part of ourselves. I hope that some of my philosophies in life shine through in my work, nothing would give me greater joy.
